The 2009/10 Colorado Avalanche finished the season with a 10-game improvement over last season. The team failed with a 43-30-9 record. Though the team lost in the Conference Quarterfinals playoffs in the strong Western Conference, the team is encouraged that with another year under their belts, they are closer than they have been since 2000/01 season when they took the Stanley Cup.
